Dragon Age II Preview

We all know the tale of the Grey Warden going off to slay the archdemon and the adventure that went along with Dragon Age Origins.  However, Gameinformer magazine revealed a second game that will be released around Spring of 2011.  For those of you that didn't play Dragon Age Origins: It's a single player RPG filled with quests and epic party battles.

The Story
The story has not been made completely clear.  You play as Hawke, and yes this means you don't get to name your character, but see the Character section for more details.  Anyways, the Dragon Age team said that this new game will take place over a decade.  Some of it takes place during events from Dragon Age Origins.  With this in mind you are going to be seeing/hearing about similar events, and may recognize some familiar faces.  Certain cut scenes will have a new art style, and will be voiced by a narrator.  This will maximize the story telling aspect of the game.  All we can tell now is that there will be quests, battles, hard thinking, and of course, dragons!

Hawke
Your Character
If you read all of the above, then you are probably dissapointed to see that you play as a set character, Hawk.  However you will still be able to customize your character like Dragon Age Origins in some very similar ways.  Warrior, Rogue, and Mage are still the three main classes that will branch off.  These classes will be able to be used in different ways depending on your choices throughout the game.  It has been said that there will be less choices made at the beginning of the story, but there will be a lot more choices as the game goes on.  You will also not be limited to just a male character.  The demo shown to the team at Gameinformer only got to see Hawke in action compared to the female character.

For The Playstation Users
Some of you reading this probably played Dragon Age Origins on PS3 and are thinking, "it was laggy, and it totally sucked".
They are NOT going to try and convert the PC made game to a console.  Instead, they are doing each game on their own to avoid the problems that occured in Dragon Age Origins.  So have no fear if that is an issue in deciding on this game.

That wraps things up for this preview.  Stay posted for more information on this Spring of 2011 RPG title.
