Free DLC Will Come to Medal of Honor

Electronic Arts announced on Oct. 27 that free DLC will be coming to Medal of Honor.  Obviously this is just another reason that the game is making loyal fans happy.  Let's see what it will have to offer.

First of all the release of the pack is on Nov. 2, 2010.  The new content will be available for PS3, Xbox Live, and PC.  We can expect new a new game mode as well as new maps.  The new game mode is called Clean Sweep.  Players will have to work together, stay alive, and eliminate the other team to be victorious.  The new maps are Bagram Hangar and Khyber Caves.  We don't know if the new maps will be available for other game modes outside of Clean Sweep.

Also, on Nov. 2.  Hot Zone game mode will be available with two new maps.  The two new maps are Hindukush Pass and Korengal Outpost.  Although new DLC is always exciting, this is not free.  This DLC will cost you $9.99 in the PlayStation Store.

Stay tuned for more information on these DLC packs as the release comes around.

Playstation Plus Content For September 21, 2010

Today Grace Chen, Senior Manager of the Playstation Store, made a blog post here announcing the new content for Playstation Plus users on September 21, 2010.  The update to come will include more free content of games, themes, and add-ons.

Zen Pinball
This game, Zen Pinball, will be a free download for Playstation Plus users.  Dive into tons of levels to relive the pinball craze from long ago, but now in digital form.  The game is also packed with several multiplayer options to let everyone get in on the fun.

Swords and Soldiers
Early access demos are one of my favorite things about Playstation Plus.  We get yet another one come September 21, 2010.  Swords and Soldiers is a strategy based side-scrolling game.  Play several game modes as you command armies like Vikings and Aztecs.  Oh, I forgot to mention, you get early access to the game if you like the demo.

Half Off
Two games will be 50% off on September 21, 2010.  These three games are Cuboid, and Savage Moon.  Both games have made a name for themselves and are highly recommended.  Especially for the steal of a price.

That is all only some of the content that will be available.  There is still free avatars, minis, and PS1 Classics that I didn't mention.  This may be one of the most packed updates for Playstation Plus.  So, now we wait, and eventually we will enjoy.

Playstation Protection For Plus

In May Playstation introduced a way to give some PS3 users their peace of mind by extending users warranty from 1-2 years extra.  With Playstation Plus advancing with popularity in the Playstation Store, there is now an offer exclusively for Playstation Plus subscribers.
Rather than paying $59.99 USD for a 2 year extension, it is only $44.99 USD for a 2 year extension.
If you don't have Playstation Plus you can still get the extension for the original price from the Playstation Store.  So if you have the extra cash, and really care for your PS3, this is a great deal.  If you have a Plus subscription then this deal should appeal to you even more.

Deathspank Review

Quick Info
Overall Rating: 8.5

ESRB: Rated T for Teen

Genre: RPG, Action/Adventure

A tale of a hero, his adventures, and wise cows.

Deathspank. The only hero I know in which I can't describe in one word. He is adventurous, strong, a hero to all, and wears a purple thong. When Deathspank popped up on the Playstation Store, I was a bit skeptical. Especially when I found out that the game was supposed to be 'humorous', because that usually turns me off. However, I played the limited demo for Deathspank and was impressed. Soon en
ough I was going through the Playstation Store to purchase the full game. Deathspank is one funny RPG that will keep you playing for hours.

The Artifact
The plot of Deathspank involves an artifact known as, The Artifact. It has unknown powers, and is hidden in an unknown location. Through the entire game,
you are trying to get your hands on The Artifact. In the first 1-2 hours of play you will retrieve the artifact, but soon have it snatched from some Orque bullies. This le
ads to the rest of the game which you will have to rescue

Preview: Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition

Now available as of 3/9/2010
Rated M for Mature
Downloadable content mentioned can be purchased at the Playstation Store
All the zombie killing you love...AND MORE!

In 2009 one of the best games of that year came out.  That game was Resident Evil 5.  This game follows the story of Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar.  If you wish to read more about the plot of the game, please click here to direct you to Wikipedia (don't worry, I approve of this pages contents).

Now you may be asking, "Why are you writing an article about a game that has come out more than a year ago?"  I would answer with the following:  Resident Evil 5 Gold has taken the original game and put it beyond its limits.  Now please keep in mind that this is not a review, but rather a look at what makes Gold different from the previous additions to the game.  In one sentance you could say: Resident Evil 5: Gold is the original game with all DLC already on the disc.

I recomend you read Game Informers professional review on the original game so you can decide whether you want it at all or not.

Now let's get into the DLC that is available on this disc:
  • Lost in Nightmares
Lost in Nightmares is when you go back to Spencer Manor.  In this it's like the good 'ole resident evil, however upgraded with PS3 graphics.  This content has Majini enemies and non-Magjini enemies.  Along with puzzles and a showdown with Albert Wesker (Yes another showdown with the cleverly over-powered badass).

  • Desperate Escape
This one takes place at the end of the original Resident Evil 5 story.  You play as Jill Valentine (Chris's former partner) and Josh Stone (Sheva's partner).  Same old Majini enemies will try and hunt you down.  It is all for the attempt to get to the escape helicopter out of the setting at the end of the game (I don't want to tell you where just in case you have not played the first story).
  • Mercenaries Reunion
Not much to say here.  If you are not familiar with Mercenaries mode, it's a mode you unlock after completing the game.  All you basically do is kill waves of zombies until you die or time runs out.  In this mode it is upgraded and has a few new playable characters.
  • Versus Mode
Pretty simple.  The original game had no versus multi-player.  So that's all this is...not much I know.
  • Costume pack 1 and 2

You get some pretty good stuff and since it's on a disc it is much more easy to buy this rather than downloading everything.
If you have never played RE5 I would recomend this.  If you have the game I would recomend these downloads.  I personally don't have them, however I will be picking them up soon and I will be able to post a in-depth review.

Thanks for reading

Review: Fat Princess

Personal Rating: 8/10
Price: $14.99 USD
ESRB: T for Teen
Genre: Action
Availability: Downloadable from the PlayStation store

Fat Princess. This small game packs large surprises. A couple months ago I played the demo for Fat Princess and I was pretty impressed, but was impressed enough. I Miss-understood the demo completely leading me to think a couple features were missing or not placed in the game well enough. For the sake of your understanding I will not tell you the flaws I thought the game contained. Anyways, after realizing that you get a few different game modes, maps, customization, and online play; I knew my $15 would be worth it.

First Impressions/Story Mode: I downloaded the game and started playing right away. Like I usually do I skipped over online play to play the story; most people go straight to the online gameplay. I was surprised the game actually had a storyline. The story mode is called, "Legend of the Fat Princess". There is a narrator that reads chapters of a story to you before every fight, and you are playing/fighting out what the chapters describe.

Gameplay/More Story Mode: I came to realize only one thing changes during you r trek through the story, and that is the mode changes. There are classic modes like Team Deathmatch in which you must kill the enemies soldiers 250 times. There are other modes like Rescue the Princess that is similar to capture the flag, except the princesses are the flags and you can make them fatter and heavier to carry by feeding them cake. These modes are also featured in online "Play with others" mode. Next to the variety of modes and levels which have obstacles as well, there are several unique classes. Most of the classes remind of ones in RPG games. The classes are: Mage, Priest, Warrior, Worker, and Ranger. Each has a different fighting style and secondary attack style as well. Mage starts out with a ranged fire attack and when upgraded gets an ice attack. The Priest starts out with ranged healing magic and when upgraded gets health sucking dark magic. The Warrior starts out with a sword and shield and when upgraded gets a spear with a sprint attack. The Worker starts out with an axe which can be used to cut trees and get resources for these very upgrades, and he is upgraded to throwing bombs. Last but not least the ranger, he starts with a bow and arrow and when upgraded he gets a rifle. The story mode is challenging and I had a lot of fun going through it.

Other Modes: There are two other modes. There is "Mess About" and online modes. Mess about is basically offline gameplay for practicing. Online is very similar to story mode gameplay just without the narrator telling the story in between. I recently purchased this game and I must say I am sad to realize not too many play this game online anymore.

This video can give you a look at the story, and menus along with some of the creators giving you information. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhHnc5gNs9A

Trophies: I was a little disappointed with the trophies, and if you are a trophy whore then you will be disappointed as well. There are only 21 trophies, but that's not complainable because almost all PlayStation Store games have a small amount of trophies. But some are pretty hard to get and they are all bronze, and that is my complaint. For example when you are spawned you are a Villager until you pick up a hat for a class, and a villager has 2 hearts which is very small health bar, compared to classes that have 4-5. Anyways, there is a trophy, "Slap 20 objects out of enemy’s hands in online games" and it is quite hard to do without dieing.

I really enjoy this game, and it was worth the small amount of money compared to a $60 game. If the price ever drops then it's a must buy.
