Demo or Beta? Beta
|Some of the playable characters in the Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Beta|
Become an assassin in this PS3 exclusive Beta.
The Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Beta has finally launched for PlayStation Plus subscribers. If you have a subscription I recommend you go and download the beta now. I mainly want this to be a little preview to those who have not, or can't, play the beta.
What can you do?
Everyone knows that betas are limited, and this is no exception. The beta allows you to play in one game mode and a couple of maps. The most popular map, and the one I will be referring to, is Castel Gandolfo. The game mode that you play is called "Wanted". In this mode you are placed in a map with other players. You have one "target" at a time, and it's another player. You must find the player and kill him. There are also many bots walking around in similar skins, so you can accidentally kill a civilian and lose your target. The higher the score is, the more pursuers you can have at once. You can have up to four pursuers. The Beta's max for ranking up is 20, but there are other levels that are faded which hints that the full game will have more.
How is the beta?
Personally, I like it. It gets a little repetitive, but that will probably go away in the full game as there will be other maps and modes. Playing around and trying to find complex ways to take down your targets is fun, but challenging. Everyone has the same advantages and disadvantages which makes the game balanced. It's definitely worth checking out if you have PlayStation Plus. If you don't know if PlayStation Plus is right for you, read this article on PlayStation Plus.
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood shows that it will have a fun and challenging online portion. The beta may be limited, but it shows of the game well. If anyone was interested in the game, this is a good extra to remember when making a buying decision.
